Danish Butter Cookies

November 14, 2008

I LOVE Danish Butter Cookies. I wanted to learn how to make them and i found a cool recipe on CDKitchen.com

I was fully intended on making these so i went to pick up the cream of tartar and saw the blue tin of cookies.

I bought them and ate the hell out of them.

The reviews say they are almost identical. So I will just  have to believe them.

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 egg yolks, beaten
2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring

Cream butter and sugar. Beat egg yolks in, one at a time. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Chill dough. Roll dough into small balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Press dough with any press or glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove immediately from cookie sheet and cool.

LOL…the post initially stopped at the word “review”. I thought you were teasing us and had returned to your cookies. This is a must try, thanks!

  3. Oh, snap! I could devour one of those tins of Danish butter cookies all by myself. I can only imagine how delightful they’d be fresh from the oven!
